  • Looking for Disability Support Workers (Causal/Part time) to join our team at APR Care in Townsville

    Within this role, you will be responsible for implementing support services aimed at maximising the daily lives of those living with a disability. We are looking for someone who would be flexible in availability (our facility runs 24/7) and encompasses a person-centered approach to care.

    You will be based in our Rangewood and/or Condon care facility. A valid driver's license would be ideal as shifts vary during the day/overnight. You may also be required to drive the company vehicle for clients.

    Physical Criteria:

    As we specialise in those with mobility issues, you will need to be able to assist in the lifting/hoisting of clients (pushing, pulling, bending).

  • *APR Care is looking for a Clinical Nurse who is passionate about providing high-quality care to participants of the NDIS*

    Part-time position (25-32 hours per week/Full-time/casual offer available).

    We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Nurse to provide evidence-based nursing care to our participants in our specialised disability accommodations located in Condon and Rangewood, QLD.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    Develop individual care plans and complete comprehensive health assessments for participants.

    Undertake nursing procedures that are evidence-based as required and document accordingly.

    Maintain and review care plans regularly to ensure they meet participants' needs and are up-to-date.

    Liaising with participants' GPs and other allied health professionals where relevant.

    Comfortably provide complex care (e.g., wound management, catheter management, ventilation management) to participants when required.

    Assist in creating and supervising the completion of training pathways to support workers, especially in complex supports, including management of medication, diabetes, epilepsy and mealtime management plans for participants with dysphagia.

    Provide support and advice to participants and support staff regarding health care issues.

    Ensure appropriate assessments and supports are in place relevant to the participant's level of needs (e.g., complex, high-risk)

    Escalate any incidents or emergencies requiring further medical attention.

    Demonstrate excellent written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise reports.

    Manage NDIS Commission incident reporting and quality assurance.

    Abide by relevant legislation and ethical frameworks.

    About You:

    Current Registered Nurse with AHPRA and at least two years of experience.

    Hold a current NDIS Clearance.

    Hold a current Working With Children Check.

    Current Influenza Vaccination and proof of COVID-19 vaccination

    Access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel.

    Genuine desire to provide high-quality care to those with disabilities

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Excellent communication skills

    Experience in plan creation, implementation and training
