About our property

We have two properties that are side by side located in Townsville, Queensland. Both dwellings are specialised for disability accommodation and each has the ability to house three permanent NDIS participants, and two NDIS participants for short term (STA), medium term (MTA) or long term accommodation. Properties are split into men and women's dwellings. Each room has access to bathrooms. We have 24 hour care facilities for people that are high needs and that are eligible for robust accommodation. Talk to your LAC for more information.

What is SDA?

Specialist Disability Accomodation (SDA) has been created under NDIS to provide housing for clients who require specialist housing solutions to assist with the delivery of supports  that cater for their extreme functional impairment and/or very high  support needs.

NDIS provides funding through a client's plan and the client (often with additional support such as a  Support Coordinator) then finds and applies for the SDA option that best suits their needs

We currently have two facilities, and both can hold 5 clients at a time. We have both properties side by side, and each house is divided into men (5) and women (5).

What is STA and MTA?

Short Term Accommodation (STA) is accessible for short periods of time. STA offers an opportunity for people with higher care needs/disabilities to live independently. STA includes all expenses in a 24 hour period including assistance  with daily personal activities, accommodation, food and other  activities. Client must have SIL funding access within their plan.

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) is for NDIS clients who need transitional accommodation while they wait to move into their confirmed permanent home (for example at hospital discharge). MTA aims to reduce the number of young people in aged care, minimise delays in hospital discharges and support NDIS clients transitioning  from custodial settings into the community.

What is SIL?

We are a provider of Supported Independent Living (SIL) which means we have 24/7 support workers that help with and/or supervise daily tasks to develop the skills of an individual to live as  independently as possible.

Assistance provided to a client will be included as part of their NDIS plan depending on the level of support they require to live independently in the housing option of their choice. APR Care specialize in level 3 higher needs clients.
